What Is the Med 2 Form?
If you undergo eligible dental treatment, you may be able to reclaim part of the cost through Revenue.
Example:
If you spend €1,000 on an eligible dental treatment, you can claim back €200 in tax relief.
Who Can Claim Dental Tax Relief?
Dental tax relief is available to PAYE and self-employed patients for certain approved dental treatments carried out in Ireland. Routine treatments such as check-ups and fillings are not covered, but many restorative and surgical treatments may qualify.

How to Claim Dental Tax Relief
Claiming your dental tax relief is straightforward:
Ask us at HappyDental Dundrum to complete your Med 2 Form once your qualifying treatment is finished
Submit the completed Med 2 Form to Revenue, either:
Online through Revenue MyAccount, or
Via your accountant or tax advisor
Revenue will process your claim, and you may receive 20% of the eligible treatment cost back

For a patient who has traditional metal braces or clear braces

When a patient has a ‘bridge of manufactured teeth’ between their natural teeth.
